How Thailand personal income tax is calculated?

Thailand personal income tax (PIT) for salary income is calculated by taking your annual income, subtracting deductible expenses and personal allowances, and then applying progressive tax brackets from 0% to 35%.

This salary tax calculator follows a simplified version of the rules for employment income:

  • Take your monthly salary and annual bonus to get annual income.
  • Apply a 50% standard expense deduction for salary, capped at 100,000 THB.
  • Subtract personal allowance and basic family allowances.
  • Apply Thai progressive PIT brackets and divide by 12 for monthly tax.

Current PIT rates for residents:

  • 0 – 150,000 THB: 0%
  • 150,001 – 300,000 THB: 5%
  • 300,001 – 500,000 THB: 10%
  • 500,001 – 750,000 THB: 15%
  • 750,001 – 1,000,000 THB: 20%
  • 1,000,001 – 2,000,000 THB: 25%
  • 2,000,001 – 5,000,000 THB: 30%
  • Above 5,000,000 THB: 35%
